New WorksA strong Asian influence made its way into the aesthetics of the Windsor chair in the 19th century. The "bamboo" styling unified the undercarraige and upper components in a way that I've always found appealing. This rocking chair also shows my interest in using the shapely vocabulary of the carved seat in the arms and spindles as well. The flat faced, steam bent spindles offer flexible, comfortable support while you enjoy the gentle rocking motion. Finished in milk paint and oil varnish, this piece has a striking silhouette that will become a centerpiece in any home. |
