Classes in Chairmaking

In 2011, I am introducing a new class format. In an attempt to accomodate the demand for instruction, I will be offering classes with four students. The class will be taught by me with a full time teaching assistant. In these courses, we will make a fan back side chair or a balloon back side chair. It will be an action packed week that will be a great introduction to chairmaking or a chance to polish your skills. The tuition is $1250 for the 6 day workshop. I also offer one on one instruction in chairmaking at my workshop in Sterling, Massachusetts. This course is intended for the experienced or advanced woodworker looking to hone their chairmaking skills. During the six day seminar, the student will make a windsor chair from log to assembly and leave withan heirloom quality chair. Tuition for the one on one sackback or continuous arm class is $1750.
